OUR STORY SINCE 2008

A quiet obsession
with how a suit should feel.

Suit Fitter Phuket began as one tailor, one cutting table and a drawer of hand-selected English cloth. Seventeen years later, we are still that — only with a few more drawers.

THE BEGINNING

From a single cutting table in Patong.

Our founder learned the trade in Bangkok under a master cutter trained in the Neapolitan tradition. In 2008 he moved south to Phuket with a small set of shears, a single bolt of English worsted, and the belief that a tourist island deserved its own house of bespoke tailoring.

The first clients were long-stay visitors from Melbourne and Manchester who wanted something more considered than a resort-grade suit. Word travelled; one commission became four; the drawer filled with cloth. By 2013 we had opened our Rat-U-Thit atelier and brought on master tailors from Hanoi and Chiang Mai.

Today we dress gentlemen in 42 countries. The cutting table has not moved an inch.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Four quiet rules of our craft.

Not a mission statement. Just the small decisions we make every day on the cutting floor.

01

Hand-cut, every time.

No digital patterning. Every garment is drafted onto paper from twenty-four of your measurements, then cut by hand with chalk and shears.

02

Full canvas, never fused.

A floating horsehair-and-wool canvas is pad-stitched into every chest. It is slower, costlier, and the only way a lapel will roll beautifully for twenty years.

03

Cloth with a surname.

Holland & Sherry, Loro Piana, Dormeuil, Vitale Barberis Canonico. Six hundred cloths with a mill, a weight and a story — and the ones that are not worth having, we do not keep.

04

Fit, not finish, first.

Three fittings are standard; a fourth is free. We would rather delay delivery than deliver a shoulder that is a half-centimetre off.

OUR JOURNEY

Seventeen years, measured one garment at a time.

A few milestones that still mean something to us.

2008

One cutting table in a quiet Patong lane. First commission: a navy worsted two-piece for a Perth mining engineer.

2013

Opened the Rat-U-Thit atelier with three master tailors. Partnered with Holland & Sherry as our principal English mill.

2018

Launched the Leather Atelier — jackets, bags and belts hand-finished alongside the suit floor.

2022

Introduced remote fittings over video for returning clients. Worldwide doorstep delivery to 40+ countries.

2025

Eight thousand garments cut — and counting. New summer cloth house for the tropics opened this April.

A WORD FROM OUR MASTER TAILOR

“A suit should disappear on the man wearing it. If you notice the suit first, I have not done my job.”

I began cutting at twenty-two under a Neapolitan master in Bangkok. He taught me that a shoulder is the most honest part of a jacket — it either sits, or it tells on you. For seventeen years I have cut toward that one honest shoulder.

What I love most is the moment a client stands at the final fitting mirror and goes quiet. That silence — that is the whole trade.
